Schoolboy is able to maintain the original sound that makes this song so great, while adding some samples and synths that can really get a party going. Saweet the site is back up! Here’s an older release from the one and only Akira Kiteshi. This song is massive. The build up makes me feel like I’m falling into a black hole of low frequencies and then WHAM, the bass hits and it’s pure wobbly bliss. It’s a perfect combination of bleeps, bloops and bwomps; and don’t forget about the spacey vocal samples. This dude knows his shit when it comes to music production, get to know him.

Right now I’m chillen in a Panera at 7:30 in the morning and jamming to this new Wick-It track. Although it’s more of a drumstep track, Wick-It kills it as always delivering a heavy drop that’ll dominate anywhere you play it at. Its been a while since Flux has dropped a song (since bass cannon?). Anyways, he definitely doesn’t disappoint with this remix of Example’s Midnight Run, dropped on UKF yesterday. This remix is lighter and poppy, more along the lines of MIA’s Internet Connection remix that he did. Although a prefer Flux’s heavier stuff, I still appreciate what he did with this Example track and I’ll most likely be playing this all day. Figure surprised us and dropped his massive Monsters of Drumstep Vol. 2 today, a week before the official release date. From the start of this 10-track album figure kills it – theming songs to the boogie man, werewolf, leather face, the mummy, and more. I’ve included the Oblivion remix to Boogie Man on this post, since it’s one of the only dubstep songs on the EP (this is the Dubstep Kollection). Wanted to post this to see what you guys think about dubstep mashups. Not gonna lie, I don’t think they work very well – dubstep is meant to hear without the vocals, and a rapper’s acapella always seems to not seem quite right. I feel like this mashup, Bullshittin On My Coffee Break, is the first exception. These two female DJ’s picked the right songs to mix together. Let me know if you agree and be sure to download above.

The other night I was wondering when Strange Clouds remixes would start dropping and sure enough this morning Dubsective delivered once again with this sweet “re-lick.” I’m really digging the bass line on this one, nice grimey sound and rhythm but doesn’t over power B.o.B. and Weezy’s verses. Soundcloud is fucking up these days so we gotta chill with the mp3′s unfortunately. Luckily, a Modestep music video dropped on UKF today. Modestep loves their dubstep videos – I especially liked the Sunlight video of two old guys getting faded and trippin on acid. Although To The Stars doesn’t have the story line, it’s filled with live footage of shows, making for a dope video. Check it, and download the song when it’s available on November 7th.

MartyParty (half of PANTyRAiD) just dropped his new Sub ON EP and it’s full of dance floor bangers guaranteed to rattle your sub. This song has a gritty, melodic bass line with perfectly arranged oscillations that make me want to get off of my couch and bounce around.
